Getting to the Top of Google

Uness you've been living on the Moon for the last 10 years, you'll know that Google is a pretty important part of the Internet.

But some of you might not not know just how big Google is today in terms of market value.

Here's how big...

GOOGLE IS BIGGER THAN IBM!

THAT'S RIGHT! In fact, Google is now one of the 25 biggest companies traded on the New York Stock Exchange.

So Google is not just important to the internet in terms of getting your company visible, the market thinks its important enough to trade at increasingly dizzying prices.

And though the internet is still not that old, one thing seems always to have been true - despite the many changes the internet and the web design industry has faced over the last few years, there has always been a desire by all businesses to be at the 'top of Google'.

One of our jobs at Krann is to run a 'Search Engine Optimisation' or SEO process over our clients' websites so that their sites become 'Google-friendly'.

There's no magic to this. It is just a question of efficient coding, better content and more links to the site. After the SEO 'makeover' the website may sometimes not even appear very different to the casual observer, but to the Google 'search algorithm' the changes made can make a world of difference!

We ran a search engine optimisation campaign with Bill's Double Diaphragm pump sales business website. The effects have been pretty good. FES are No1 and No 2 on page 1 of Google for a range of phrases such as 'graco pumps', 'husky diaphragm pump' and many others.

This has translated into many more enquiries for Bill's firm. And with more enquiries, more sales usually follow.

So how does it work?

Google is a search engine. It is run by human beings who have written a system that automates the process of picking the best sites for a particular search.

Is it expensive?

We typically charge £300 for the first search term optimised and £350 for each additional term (i.e. £750 for 10 terms). There may be other charges for redesigning pages and rewriting content though. It depends on the state of your site.
